Gill was born in Grahamstown, matriculated at Victoria Girls? High School in the city and attended Rhodes University, where she graduated as a primary school teacher and furthered her studies to become a remedial teacher.
Having been in the teaching profession for 25 years, in Grahamstown, and having taught at various schools, Gill has befriended many families.
After many happy years of teaching, she joined the family business and is now the principle of Stewart Armitage Estates
